Meet John Burke, RPh, CFMP, CPT

Hi, I’m John — a pharmacist, certified functional medicine consultant, and personal trainer based in Rochester, NY.

I began my career in pharmacy over 30 years ago with one purpose: to help people feel better. As Chief Pharmacist in a large nursing home, I witnessed firsthand how medications could save lives — but I also saw the limitations of a system focused solely on prescriptions.

My perspective changed dramatically in 2006 when my mother passed away due to preventable medical negligence. That experience reshaped my understanding of healthcare and solidified my mission:
to become an advocate for better health through prevention, education, and empowerment.

I realized that true healing doesn’t come from a single pill — it comes from addressing the root causes, supporting the body’s natural ability to heal, and aligning lifestyle with biology.

My Approach

I integrate functional medicine, fitness, and lifestyle coaching to help clients restore balance in key systems — especially gut health and metabolism, the foundation of lasting wellness.
Through evidence-based assessments, nutrition guidance, and customized exercise programs, we work together to:
